Set in beautiful Cumbrian countryside nestled between The Lake District National Park and The Solway Coast, The Den At Four Acre sits just outside the village of Kirkbride, very near Wigton and a few miles from Carlisle. 

​You will have exclusive use of

our festival style venue and all the facilities over three tranquil days, day one to set up, day two to hold your event and day three to clear away. Our season runs from May to September every year. 

We like to keep things simple for you and for us so the price we give you is the price for all you will need to hold your event. You will just need to organise your catering and entertainment. 

    What’s Included

  • Three giant hat tipis and one smaller furnished chill-out tipi and one catering tent, clear perspex front to the entrance.All cleverly linked together to create a large but cosy space. Enough for 200 seated guests

  • A rustic, shepherds hut style toilet block 

  • Indoor Firepit, fuelled with bio-ethanol so no smoke, just creates a warm atmosphere

  • Access to the venue from 9am the day before your event to 3pm the day after

  • Fairy Lights/ Lighting throughout the tipis, outdoor festoon lighting

  • Full furnishings in the chill out tipis, Chesterfield sofas, rugs etc.

  • A 85kw Space Heater, this will assure a nice warm comfortable space even on the cooler Cumbrian summer evenings

  • Tables and benches to seat up to 150 people or 200 for a cosy fit.

  • Designated dance floor tipi with wooden floor and disco lights to dance the night away

  • Full car parking on site

  • A comprehensive accommodation list

  • PA system, suitable for speeches and background music.

  • A silent generator to power your whole event

  • Bar provided by "The Wandering Den" bar company

  • The freedom to choose your own food, have hog roast, a sit down meal , barbecue, fish & chips, ice cream, your own buffet

Corporate Events

The Ceremony Bit

We have a beautiful outdoor ceremony space with seating for 100+ guests. As we are an outdoor venue we don't have a license to do the legal bit. You will have to visit the registry office ar church for this. 

We can cater for a beautiful personalised celebrant ceremony or blessing, where you can work with your celebrant to make your ceremony special and personal to you.

The Food

Unlike many wedding venues, at The Den At Four Acre you may choose your own caterers! Whether your style of wedding is a more traditional, formal sit down meal with table service or a laid back go-help-yourself festival vibe, we have an extensive list of tried and tested caterers. From BBQ to hog roast, wood fired pizza to sharing boards and ice cream cart to a waffles truck, you have the freedom to choose what you want and who you would like. The Bar

Would you like an Aperol Spritz in the garden? 

Our sister company 'The Wandering Den' will welcome you with an excellent choice of your favourite tipple. You can order a drink on the inside bar or if it's a lazy summer day you can treat yourself to one of their speciality cocktails in the garden. 

There is a wide choice of draught lager, ale, gins, spirits and much much more. 

Wine for your tables is available with some excellent package prices upon request. 

You can also bring your own table wine, limit of two bottles per table (a corkage fee will apply).

The Entertainment

The large secluded meadow around the tipis is fully enclosed, safe for children and perfect for entertaining your guests. We can supply a great selection of lawn games. You can also hire a bouncy castle, toys, a bucking bronco, a magician, a photobooth, crazy golf or a caricature artist! You can even bring your own alpacas! The possibilities are endless and we will help you make your wedding day dreams become a reality!

The Party

Live music is a popular choice at The Den, a guitarist, violinist or saxophonist on the lawn to play your guests during your drinks reception then a live band at night? You can also an excellent selection of local DJ's see Our Friends. If you want your favourite band to come and play it's entirely up to you. 

We have a large decked dance floor space enough room for your band or DJ and your guests to dance the night away. Not forgetting our glitter ball 'Gary' who will sit proud above you.

We're here for You

Sarah & Adrian will always be at hand from the time of booking to helping you sort out the day after your event, You can ask ask many questions as you need to in the lead up, no question is too small or insignificant, they with assist anything from catering recommendations to suit your requirements or help with booking accommodation. On the wedding day they will fully co ordinate your schedule and worry about all the finest details so you don't have to. 

We have a wonderful team of friendly, professional staff to look after your guests, from working the bar, assisting with parking, shuffling furniture, and even coordinating buses at the end of the night. Rest assured, you can simply relax and enjoy your perfect day.
